I have manufacturer new HP laptop pre-installed with vista home but I have downgraded it to XP. Everything is fine except the network card driver!! I cannot find a driver to download that works for the laptop now I have put XP on it. HP have been no forbear! Very critical I can install correct driver that works!! Does anyone know where/how I can find this?
First, you shortage to find out what type of chipset the NIC is using.
- probably either an Intel or Realtek chipset.
You can try to install the manufacturers generic drivers.
I've done it many times. If by odd unexpected, you can't find drivers, go get yourself a PCMCIA Network adapter - $40
Sooner or later, drivers will exist from the chipset manufacturer.
