Develop and featuresFor a laptop under AU$1000, the Compaq Presario CQ61 is surprisingly well built and even includes the silken touchpad found on its perquisite HP cousins.
It is unspectacular to look at compared to today's inlaid designs found on premium laptops, but for AU$1000 you're booming to be making some concessions. The back of the 15.6-inch, 1366x768 screen is a simple piano lowering with the Compaq "Q" logo, while internally is a mix of matte black and silken silver. A hot air vent is featured on the left-hand-hand side, potentially warming any left hander who wants to use an external mouse.
There's only one quick found button here to turn on and off the wireless — otherwise the only other button is the power button, both situated in the middle underneath the guard.
There are three USB ports (although one is shared with an eSATA port), 56Kbps modem and 100Mb Ethernet jacks, VGA out, an SD/MS/MMC/xD card reader, a DVD+-RW, and headphone and microphone jacks dotted around the case edge. The lack of gigabit Ethernet is interesting considering its ubiquity on everything bar netbooks these days, and following this downplay the Compaq only offers 802.11g instead of 802.11n and no Bluetooth. ExpressCard is missing too — HP has distinctly opted to improve build quality and design at the expense of lowering some of the system spec, although if you're buying at this bonus level then you'll likely not notice or care about the performance drop anyway. Uncommon for this price point is the counting of an HDMI port.
How can I make my presario 2100 reconise the network card?
My computer flatten off the couch onto the carpet now my computer will not reconise the network card.I have windows xp.Tried add hardward,reinstall driver, even reinstalled alternative boot. Nothing help.
the network card works I tried it in another computer. I tried to reboot but the computer does not reconise.
I snaped the card into opening it makes a sound on the computer that its in but does not work. I even tried a different card and it doesn't work either. there must be something wrong with the groove but I don't know how to fix it.
I still have not gotten any answers yet.

First of all is it one of the following:
- Pc job card correctly and fulling snapped in. If the card is a hair out of the socket inside it wont work.
- Make dependable the card is not broken, cracked, fried.
- Uninstall the card properties and reboot. This should detect new hardware. I can offer more par if the above has been done.
Does it come with software? how old and what brand is the card? The older ones have floppy disks for software... the new ones are promote and play requiring no software.
Then i would bring it to a repair shop... but not really.
It is better to find someone that knows computers and have a cobber do it. Repair shops are expensive and theres no promise that they can or will fix it.
