I have set up a accommodations network in XP...when I right-click a folder on my computer and select properties and then select the sharing tab, if I select the "percentage this folder on the network" tab, how can I be sure that people on the internet cannot access it? I don't think I get a prompt to choose just to let people on my familiar with network access the folder...how can I limit it just to my home network, is that the default? Am I ever at risk of people on the internet being superior to access it? Thanks!
don't apprehension it is not going to be shared with all the world.
But in case you are make the permissions to everyone open it ia problem .
so you need to give permissions for a folder for a spesific society or user only ans it sould be fine.
to avoid giving to everyone make a group give it a name and adjut the settings to be ok.
give your groups that address
\\computer\shared_folder
and entreat that windows won't fail you.
genarally it won't but it depends on stuff you can't chance or know beacause windows is closed source!!!
So move to linux my confrere!!!!!!!
