Sirius Shows iPhone Dock, Other Fall ... Twice

The attend joins several new products shown at the Sirius XM headquarters for fall shipping, including the first dedicated Sirius XM tabletop Internet radio, new clog-and-play car radios with an a la carte model, and a home audio tuner.

The XM SkyDock car dock differs from the current Sirius XM app for the iPhone because it has an embedded follower-radio chip and it works with a plug-in car antenna, so users receive true satellite reception vs. Internet streaming. It includes an XM sliver, but users can subscribe to Best of Sirius to get full XM and Sirius programming.

The iPhone/iPod Touch then becomes an advanced Sirius/XM controller that lets you flick through programming via touchscreen so users can see what is playing as they search. Users can also use iTunes tagging to buying a song heard on Sirius XM directly from iTunes.

The SkyDock also connects the iPhone/iPod Cover to the car radio through a new technology that Sirius XM is also bringing to its plug-and-play receivers.  The units now include FM modulators built into the power puff so there is no need for a separate FM antenna, as required previously. The FM signal is sent directly over the powerline. A twinkling way to connect the SkyDock to the car radio is through an aux-in cable as the dock has an aux-in jack.

I want an Internet Radio receiver that isn't depend ant on a computer for Internet Radio listening.Any advice?

I would like to buy a endure alone Internet Radio receiver. I know they make them. They receive Internet Radio but they do not require the use of a PC.

I feel this would be the best thing as I have looked at Satalite Radio systems and they don't have non-fluctuating stations I want, and they also have subscription fees. Internet Radio would not have fees for listening to various stations. You could get any station that is readily obtainable on the Internet.

Any advice on where to look for one of these? Which one should I get?

The only apparatus I can think of does NOT require a computer but it does require a network. No player is going to pick up Internet radio without some ilk of internet connection. It also comes programmed for over 1000 internet radio stations.
