Bill would give President emergency c... VentureBeat

The president of the  Internet Safeguarding Alliance , which includes Verizon, Verisign, Nortel and Carnegie Mellon University on its board, told McCullagh the bill is “troubling due to its vagueness.” Signally the part where it says that in a cyber-emergency, companies whose private networks are deemed critical will be required to portion information requested by the government, but doesn’t set limits on what that information can be.

Fred Tien, an attorney with online rights advocates the Electronic Far reaches Foundation , also told CNET that the bill’s language has become “more ambiguous” over time, empowering the President — currently a guy who has already had one cyber-czar desert on him — to declare a private network “critical” and effectively take control of it.

McCullagh is by oneself critical of the bill’s requirement that the White House implement a comprehensive national cybersecurity tactics in six months, because the mandatory legal review of the strategy to decide what is or isn’t legal in the strategy will take at least a year to uncut. Hey, it’s just like Twitter’s business model.

Satellite internet...?

Okay, well I endure in the country and the location makes my house inaccessible to cable internet. Thus, I have satellite internet. I have WildBlue which I admit is pretty hurried but after a while, the internet usage is limited and becomes really really really slow because of how much my family uses it. So do you guys have suggestions for satellite internet that has a modest download speed and virtually unlimited bandwidth for a reasonable price? By the way, I live in central California.

Now that they 3 spammers are out of the way...

In the USA there is no extensive services for Satellite internet. In fact, they restrictions will likely get worse, until they can launch more satellites. If DSL is also not available, there is not much you can do. You could try to find a local wireless that offers a higher limit, or unbounded. Although I doubt since you live in California, that it would be unlimited. You could look in the back of your local telephone book (I assume everyone gets one, but maybe I am impolitic), and see if anyone is listed in the yellow pages.

As far as satellite internet goes, the only thing you could do is either upgrade your service package more, or Switch providers. You could try lesser known callers, Starband. You could look into them, and see if they are anything you would like. Although finding their RUP or FAP, is rather time consuming, since you have to do some searching.

If your happy with wildblue though, I would barely go up to the next package available. Hughesnet would be good, if they had more satellites.
