Sometimes NIC's or wireless cards are built in, or integrated into the motherboard. Go to gubbins manager and see if you already have one of these by doing this: Right click my computer
Select Properties Click Hardware Tab, then click gubbins manager. Scroll down the list and look for
"Network Adaptor"
